Rolling Nerd Fest

The Universal Space Bus rolled back to Utah this week to see our oldest nerdling in a community theater production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Show runs through July 18. He played Judah and had his own song & dance number. The show is one of the kids’ favorites so now they are singing it all the way back to Florida!

We are safe. But we are not in the Universal Space Bus right now, because that’s not safe during a Tornado Warning. We had the rig detailed today and the team finished just before the storm hit. So my picture is of the storm as I drove away. Maybe tomorrow when the weather is nicer.  

We have spent the weekend celebrating my nephew’s family Temple sealing. In our faith we believe that marriages blessed in an LDS Temple, by the proper authority, are for all eternity. After John & his family were sealed, my sister hosted a lovely reception in their honor. My favorite part is always the hair & makeup party beforehand!

At the Gothenburg, Nebraska exit on I-80 you can go north or south. On the north side is a large truck stop, two gas stations, and a diner. On the south side is a two-pump gas station that doubles as the camp store for a KOA. I stepped into that store and was absolutely gobsmacked!

It’s got minimal convenience store items. It also has the widest selection of British market goods I’ve ever seen outside the UK!!

We spent our Saturday in a parking lot waiting on a mobile repair tech to fix the radiator belt tensioner pulley. We had loaded up and gone 1/2 mile down the road when the engine overheated and stop engine warnings went off. It’s not bad waiting when you have air conditioning (generator) and free wifi (strategic parking lot). Just 7 hours later we were on our way. 

Oh. And the motor that brings the steps in and out fell off the rig. We should get that fixed. 

Friday night ended with an ER visit. I found myself at the business end of a bone crunching intractable migraine. The first round of IV meds did not work but the second cocktail finally broke the pain spiral. My girls accompanied me. Here’s a pic of our girls’ night.  Someday I will laugh.
